Feels Like the Real Test
S-iBT tests are based on authentic materials from ETS, the makers of the TOEFL iBT. S-iBT test content is carefully crafted to be parallel to that of the real TOEFL iBT in every way:
- All reading passages have the correct type of topic, number of words, level of vocabulary, style and structure;
- All listening audio have the same exact structure as in original tests. They are recorded by professional voice talent using the same styles of speaking;
- All questions are written in the same manner as in the original tests, and they ask about the same types of information.
In summary, you can be sure that an S-iBT test will be just as difficult as a real test, and that it will give you a realistic experience.
Unfortunately, the TOEFL tests you can find in books at bookstores, even by well-known publishers, are not realistic at all. Anyone who has studied actual TOEFL tests could open one of these books and immediately point out the mistakes. Taking one of these tests is largely a waste of your time, and you cannot rely on any score you receive at the end. The score you receive with an S-iBT test is as similar as possible to what you would have received with an actual TOEFL iBT exam.
